Our Story
Why we exist

SwagAbility was born out of a life interrupted by adversity. Stephen Wagstaff — known to many as "Swag" — has navigated nearly 30 years of life as a wheelchair user, facing surgeries, health crises, and moments that brought him and his wife Julie to the edge of what they thought they could endure.

One of those moments came on December 5, 2012. The night after a routine surgery, Julie received a phone call no spouse wants to receive: "Please come. Your husband has a pulse right now, but he is not doing well." During that drive, Julie held onto her faith — and when she arrived, she learned Stephen had survived. God had intervened.

It was through moments like these that Stephen and Julie discovered something powerful: when life falls apart, people need more than information. They need hope. They need someone to walk alongside them.

We Help You Thrive Where Life Finds You.

Our Faith
Rooted in Christ

Everything we do flows from our faith foundation. We are born again Christians and that is the reason we started this ministry. We want people to understand that it is not us that changes anybody — it is Christ working through us.

We believe true support means caring for both physical and spiritual needs. Whether someone is navigating trauma, disability, loss, or major life transitions, our mission is to meet them where they are — offering practical support, meaningful connection, and most importantly, hope found in Christ.

Through storytelling, community, and outreach, we aim to share the love of Jesus with those who need it most — helping people rediscover purpose, rebuild strength, and move forward with faith.

Our Values
What we stand for
Faith
Everything we do is grounded in the belief that every life has purpose and dignity in Christ.
Compassion
We meet people where they are, without judgment, with open arms and open hearts.
Resilience
We believe adversity does not have the final word. There is always hope and a way forward.
Community
No one should have to navigate life's hardest moments alone. We are stronger together.

Stories of Impact
Hear from our community
During one of the hardest seasons of our lives, when my husband was battling terminal cancer, SwagAbility became a source of strength, faith, and support for our entire family. They walked with us through every high and low, connected us with others, and reminded us of hope when ours was fading. Even after my husband passed, they continued to stand beside me and my children. Their love, care, and unwavering support made an unbearable journey feel less lonely.

Caregiver & Widow
I am living proof of the impact SwagAbility has on a life. I was struggling deeply — battling addiction, personal challenges, and isolation. Through their consistent support, faith, and encouragement, I was able to rebuild my life. They never gave up on me, even when I made it difficult. Today, I am stronger in my faith and in who I am, and I know that transformation would not have been possible without their presence in my life.
