Weather: Sunny with a mix of cloud, hot and humid
Equipment: Muck boots, side x side, backpack containing snacks, water, camera, and dog
Destination: Maliseet Trail – Hayes Falls
As some might remember, from an earlier blog seven years and nine months ago, hubby and I set out to traverse a fabulous hiking spot near us that ended at a waterfall. Unfortunately, our journey was never completed as we had to concede and turn around just before the descent to the falls. Although, we had fun together and learned a few lessons, we were not able to catch a glimpse of the cascading water. I never gave up on the idea of somehow getting hubby to that site. A few weekends back, I explored the area more and discovered a possibility that could very well be accomplished by vehicle instead of lugging a wheelchair. After mapping it out, we hit the trails. I'm sure I frightened all forms of nature with my shrieks of elation upon arriving at the spot where the old portage route was! Over some rocky water spots and down a dirt trail dotted with moose tracks, we arrived at the top of the waterfall. (The jumping, clapping and yippees that ensued were, I'm sure, the carryings-on of someone needing a straight jacket!) We can now proudly say WE have been to Hayes Falls! I love exploring places and being out in creation, but it's even funner when I get to do it with my bestie.

Beautiful. Love the smiles. Chat soon!
